Constance Phillips has written a fairy story for adults that is totally grounded in the real world, with very believable bridges between the worlds of fairy and human. Her fairies have wants, needs, and internal power struggles, as well as prejudices and desires.. similar in many ways to human characters, except for their magical powers, which they use to control situations, humans, and each other.
Monique is a fairy hiding in the human world from her brother Kieran, and his plans for her future

I am clearly not on the same page as other reviewers of this book. It was all over the place. There are just too many characters to follow and not enough build to make you care about them. I usually enjoy a mixed narrative, but the multiple POV did not flow smoothly.
I really loved the concept, it just did not come through in my opinion. From the start the story drags, it takes a long time to get to the major plot points. By then I just could not care about the characters. Monique was not my kind

A love story so epic, it spans different worlds.
Fairyproof opens with a clever concept--what happens when a fairy meets a human who doesn't yield to her charms?--and quickly evolves to a fast-paced, tension-filled story of a woman with everything to lose who risks her very way of life to be with the man she loves.
Ms. Phillips did an amazing job of keeping me on edge with the creative story twists, her world-building capabilities, and her talent of wrapping all of the elements around the tight c

Well, so, you guys know that I do not give a 5 star rating lightly, but in this case, I feel that it is well-deserved. I felt so sucked into this story that I just could not walk away and I had to know what was going to happen.
Monique, or Naomi as you know her at the beginning of the story, is so absolutely shocked that her powers are not working on Daniel that she has no idea what she is going to do. She has never had to rely on actual ability before without her Fairy powers and she is lost. Bu

So this is really interesting, very fast paced read. It starts off with Monique, who has a few different aliases as she is trying to hide from her brother. You learn in the beginning, that she is a fairy. She has a few abilities, but tries not to use them, as magic can be tracked and monitored. The point of views come from Monique and her brother, Kieran, in the beginning, but Daniel gets a little lime light as well towards the middle and the end. Monique goes to work for Daniel, who is attracte..more

Monique has fled to the human world to escape an arranged marriage to a less-than-worthy fairy. Although tough, she manages to get by each day by taking various jobs and moving every couple of months all the while relying on her fairy power that allows her to manipulate humans. But when she meets Daniel, everything changes. I really enjoyed seeing this story develop and was pleasantly surprised with how all of the plot points ended up melding together into one. Monique is on the run. She prefers to hide amongst the humans than live in the fairy land with Eero Teneyck, the faery her brother, Keiran, chose for her after the death of their parents. She should have the right to fall in love, but her brother is denying her that right because of his blindness. Monique is on the run to avoid being forced to marry someone she has no interest in. Her brother is trying to track her down and bring her back. This was a great read. I very quickly got drawn into the world of Fairies. From the first sentence the story moved very quickly. You immediately love both Daniel and Monique. This story is filled with secrets that you are dying to uncover. Not to mention the steamy scenes between Monique and Daniel…when it finally happens. At times you forget this is a paranormal romance. It is written very much centering on the romance more than the paranormal. But, just when you forget its paranormal then you..more

I was instantly hooked by the idea of Ms. Phillips’ book—a fairy who is used to getting humans to do her will by “bespelling” them meets a man who is immune to her spells, who is, as the title says, “fairyproof.” What will the fairy, Monique, do now? She needs the employment the impervious hero can provide, while she hides on earth from her overly protective brother and his determination to return her to the fairy world and to marriage to the very powerful Eero. Ms. Phillips weaves a highly ente..more

I really enjoyed this book. I love how we are not told why she ran away until later in the book. It adds mystery and suspense. I thought that Daniel was great. He was sweet and understanding. Another great thing about this book was that we got to see some parts from Monique, some from Daniel and some from Keiran. We got to see how each character looked to the other. Like we knew what was going on with Monique but when we saw her from Daniel's point of view, you would never know all the craziness..more

I found this a darling story. I laughed, I cried, I sighed in pleasure (and get your mind out of the gutter… I know it when there but this book is not like that). I wanted to root for Daniel and Monique. I wanted to reach into the story and throttle Keiran. And then I wanted to cry again.
This is a wonderful love story even without the paranormal component. The Faire aspect just adds dimension to the story. I found the story to be more than just a typical love story. The story had dimension and

Very unique and fast paced read! Phillips does a great job of creating a storyline that sinks its hooks into you and doesn't let go till the end. The characters are well formed, you become invested in them. The ending was not too surprising and was left with somewhat of an opening, so there could possibly be a sequel to this one.. I would definitely read it!! I look forward to reading more from Constance Phillips!!

Fairyproof is a chance to escape the everyday and look at the human world through the eyes of a fairy. Monique is running from trouble in her world and looks to hide among humans living a day to day life. With her brother chasing her, she finds an ally in Daniel. The twists lead to adventures that surprise and delight. Great reading and I hope there are more to come. At first I did not like the brother, but now I hope there is another book to tell his story.

The world created and the way the mythology keeps your attention and holds your interest made this an enjoyable read. The characters were likable and you could tell they were well thought out; however it took me a while to warm up to them.
Fairyproof is a sweet romance with an interesting view on fairies. If you are looking for action and romance with a different spin, this is a good read. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next.

This is the first book in The Realm's Salvation series. I have read multiple books from the author and once again she has written a good book. This book can be read as a standalone but the story is not complete so why stop without knowing what happens to Monique and Daniel?

I had some trouble really getting into this one. It wasn't a bad read but I wasn't as enthralled with it. The storyline kind of lagged for me and was pretty predictable. But it was overall a sweet romance.
Monique was very likeable but I just didn't connect with her as much. She relied so much on her looks and when they didn't work for her it was like she was completely lost. I liked that she fought for herself and wasn't willing just to go with her brothers plans for her. Daniel was very sweet.

Fairyproof is an interesting read. I enjoyed the conflict but feel that the characters are a bit flat. Monique is in a desperate situation but comes across as completely naive. Initially, I understand that but at this point she has been on the run for six months. There is nothing in her behavior that suggests she has learned anything. Daniel is fine, but there is nothing remarkable about him. I question the decisions

This has got to be the worse UF attempt I've ever read. The main character was utterly annoying, selfish, and downright petty. The more she spoke or acted the more I wanted to slap her in the face. I think I spent more time rolling my eyes than finding this entertaining. Everything was so utterly predictable and so very repetitive. Overall..honestly a waste of my life.

“Commitment and family were important decisions, but so were matters of t
he heart. [Monique] might not know much about politics, but she knew she couldn’t command her heart to love. And she’d never be pressured into giving herself to Eero, not to appease her family or to strengthen her brother’s political position. She’d seen all she cared to of him and his power in the short week that he pursued her and that night he’d tried to bind their powers without her consent.”
