Last week when I was checking for Windows updates, the Logitech download assistant appeared in my list. To start, this IS a VERY stupid thing to show up in WINDOWS update, whether I have logitech equipment or not, it's not a driver, it's a download assistant. Rant aside though, I hid it from updates last week. A few words about 'Logitech Download Assistant', What happened is that MicroShaft and our buddies at Logitech struck a deal where windows 10 will come by default with this bloatware. The software recognizes that you have Logitech hardware and offers you to download software for it. A piece of software in my start up called 'Logitech Download Assistant' this morning when I booted my PC. Do you have Windows 10? The Logitech Download Assistant runs during start-up to detect and download newly released Logitech updates. It can be removed if not required or if the user manually checks for updates. If you have recently upgraded, you may encounter LogiLDA.dll – The specified module could not be found in Windows 10 during Startup. Generally, this issue appears when DLL file is missing or cannot open in your system. The main culprit behind this problem is Logitech Download Assistant.

Logitech Download Assistant?

So I noticed a piece of software in my start up called 'Logitech Download Assistant' this morning when I booted my PC. I'm having issues with another software causing a small black square to show up, it's another story.

I checked out online and people really seem to think it's disgusting and horrible. I checked the file location and it's rundll32 it's tied to.

Now I didn't download this software, I didn't update my PC and suddenly have it here. The only thing I can think is it got installed with the drivers of my Logitech K400+ when I started using that.

Could that be it? Was it installed when I installed my K400+?

Dumb question, I know, but Google's being utterly useless.
